Front Porch Abbey considers love (being ambitious for someone else’s good) and friendship (bonds of trust, mutuality, and reciprocity) as spiritual disciplines to be practiced in community.

zoomABBEYs
“I ask [God] that with both feet planted firmly on love, you’ll be able to take in with all followers of Jesus the extravagant dimensions of Christ’s love. Reach out and experience the breadth! Test its length! Plumb the depths! Rise to the heights! Live full lives, full in the fullness of God.” The Message: Ephesians 3:18-19
These online and in-person triads are not Bible Studies. As important as Scripture study is there are many options for people to explore theology and Scripture exegesis. You can find my personal favorite option at www.bibleproject.com.
ZoomABBEYs are safe, prayerful, Spirit-led spaces that ground our lives in God’s through listening for Christ’s activity that is shaping the contours of our souls. As we learn to notice, wonder, and appreciate each other's experiences, rather than correct, advise and fix, we find healing and discover the Spirit's invitations to partnership in our world.

“The ultimate touchstone of friendship is not improvement, neither of the other nor of the self, the ultimate touchstone is witness, the privilege of having been seen by someone and the equal privilege of being granted the sight of the essence of another, to have walked with them and to have believed in them, and sometimes just to have accompanied them for however brief a span, on a journey impossible to accomplish alone.”
~David Whyte, Friendship

VESPERS
Traditionally Vespers has been a time set aside in the early evening to express thanksgiving to God. Many Catholic and Mainline Denominations have offered liturgies to help support this practice. We have re-visioned the grateful heart responses of Vespers as a meal to share, expressions and reflections on gratitude, and prayer for each other.
This is an in-person event that is by invitation only. If interested in attending, please contact me.
